About Snowberry Bowl Campground

Overview

The forested drive to this campground is a beautiful visual of a fire resilient ecosystem with views of the surrounding mountains that tower above. Snowberry Bowl is nicely tucked in the 25 Mile Creek Drainage away from the busy town of Chelan but close to the Lake and recreational activities.

There are seven single tent sites and two small group/RV sites, all of which have fire rings and picnic tables. The group/RV sites can accommodate up to a 25-foot trailer. No hook-ups are available at any of the sites. A group shelter containing four picnic tables may be accessed via barrier-free trails near both group/RV sites. The group shelter is available to all campers on a first come/first serve basis. Potable water and dumpsters for garbage service are provided for users of the campground during the open season. There are three vault toilets on site.

Campers must pay for every night they occupy a campsite in Snowberry Bowl campground.

Recreation

Hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, dirt biking, and playing in the water on Lake Chelan top the list of recreational activities in the area. The Pot Peak, North Fork 25 Mile Creek, and Box Canyon trails are a short drive from the campground and are open to most activities. Lake Chelan is the big draw for the area and provides campers with access to the third deepest lake in the United States. Whether it's fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, or swimming Lake Chelan is a beautiful place to recreate on the water.

Facilities

Lake Creek Campground offers seven sites that accommodate tents and two group/RV camp sites, however hookups are not available. There is a group picnic shelter that is first come, first served. A solar pump is on site for fresh water and dumpsters are located on site. Three CXT vault toilets are available.

Natural Features

The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest offers stunning scenic vistas, with high, glaciated alpine peaks, valleys of old growth forest and rugged shrub-steppe country making up the diverse landscape. Elevations range from below 1,000 feet to more than 9,000 feet. Visitors can expect many days of warm, sunny weather in the summer, and winters with clear skies and plenty of snow. The surrounding area is a beautiful visual of a fire resilient ecosystem and provides excellent habitat for a wide range of wildlife including mule deer, cougars, native fish, black bears, pine marten, moose, bald and golden eagles and a variety of woodpeckers and owls. The short drive to Lake Chelan gives campers great access to the natural beauty and recreational opportunities the lake provides.

Nearby Attractions

Hundreds of miles of multiple use trails are accessible from nearby trailheads. Lake Chelan provides amazing access to campers who want to recreate on the water. The town of Chelan is a 35 minute drive and provides multiple options for dining and recreation.

Getting there

From Chelan, travel south on Highway 97A for 3 miles. Turn right onto Southshore Road and go approximately 20 miles to Shady Pass Road #5900. Turn left up the Shady Pass Road #5900, go 3 miles to Slide Ridge Road #8410. Take a left onto the Slide Ridge Road #8410 and travel ¾ mile to Snowberry Bowl Campground.
