Chattahoochee Park is located on Lake Seminole in Southwest Georgia. The lake and surrounding area provide a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for fishing, camping, boating, picnicking, hiking, biking and birding.
There are 3 reservable picnic shelters in the park, each offering spectacular views of the lake. Chattahoochee Park offers great views, multiple places to bank fish or fish from a pier and places to play.
Lake Seminole is known as one of the best sites for sports fishing in America. Extensive stump and grass beds provide abundant cover where anglers fish for largemouth, hybrid, striped and white bass. Sizable populations of catfish, crappie and bream are also present. Over 79 species of fish have been identified in the lake.
Chattahoochee park offers opportunities for fishing, wildlife viewing, picnicking, and playing. A boat ramp provides access to the lake. There are restroom facilities within walking distance of all 3 shelters. A playground, tennis court, basketball court are located near Turkey Flight Shelter and a sand volleyball court is located near Swim Beach Shelter. Potable water and electricity are available at all shelters. All shelters have 8 picnic tables and a grill available for use.
Lake Seminole has a surface area of 37,500 acres with 376 miles of shoreline. A pine and hardwood forest covers the rolling hills around the lake.
A variety of wildlife makes its home around Seminole Lake, including raccoons, alligators, ring-necked ducks, canvasbacks, scaup, hawks, bald eagles, black vultures, tortoises and snakes.
From Hwy 90, in Chattahoochee, FL turn at North Bolivar Street. This will turn into Booster Club Road. Continue on this road for 2 miles. Look for directional sign at the Y on Booster Club Road to stay left. At the park entrance, swim beach shelter will be to the left. The ramp shelter and Turkey flight shelter will be to the right. Continue straight to Turkey flight shelter. Follow signs to the right for the boat ramp shelter.
